New Director Appointed to SSI's Board
May 28th, 2003 - Calgary, Canada -- Sterne Stackhouse Inc. ("SSI") (TSX.V:SSX) a leader in agile query, reporting, and Data-Exploitation™ software, is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Jeffrey Howe, C.A. as a new independent member to its Board of Directors. Accordingly, SSI has increased the total number of directors to six, comprised of two SSI executive directors and four independent directors.
Mr. Howe graduated from Queen's University in 1986 with a Degree in Commerce. In 1988, Mr. Howe completed his Chartered Accountant designation while articling at Ernst & Young LLP ("E&Y"). During his 14 years with E&Y, Mr. Howe provided advisory and audit services to his clients, the last 5 years of which were as a Principal in the Technology, Communication and Entertainment practice. Presently, Mr. Howe serves as the Vice President, Finance and Administration for Canada's largest custom galvanizer, Pure Metal Galvanizing. He has primary responsibility for the overall financial affairs of the company, and is actively involved in its day-to-day operations and long-term strategic direction. Mr. Howe brings to the SSI Board his senior management, technical, and financial experience from a career that has spanned Finance and Accounting, Technology, and Operations.
