Most of query and online analytical processing (OLAP) tools only help the relational database management system (RDBMS) to fulfill a portion of its potential. These tools do not allow enough workers to become knowledge workers and enough business executives to tap the RDBMS's contents. These analysis software tools have a strong heritage as technical or business specialists' tools. That heritage is still apparent.
